Ola Brew forged ahead with its 50th anniversary celebration of Earth Day by giving away dryland kalo starts to customers in exchange for a donation of canned goods.
Ola Brew forged ahead with its 50th anniversary celebration of Earth Day by giving away dryland kalo starts to customers in exchange for a donation of canned goods.
“As you all know, increasing Hawaii’s agricultural economy has always been the driving force and the soul of our business model,” said Naehalani Breeland, president of Ola Brew. “During these times we are encouraging everyone and their keiki to recognize the abundance that we have here to sustain ourselves and each other.” Breeland said Manaai and Huialohaainamomona donated 1,400 dryland kalo starts to share with the community.
“Our motto is ‘plant what you take and share what you make,’” said Breeland.
All of the food donated will be delivered to the Milolii community.
“Hopefully, it will encourage you to get your hands dirty and grow more food,” she said.
